I have been lucky to have many mentors throughout my career as I grew up in a home of property people.
My mother has been in the Real Estate industry for as long as I can remember and my father worked closely with marketing developments and had a lot of early input into the V&A Waterfronts Marina Development many years ago. A generation back my grandmother was a top performing estate agent at one of South Africa’s leading agencies at the time. Needless to say that this passion runs in my blood.
I have been taught by more than just my family, straight out of High School I started an apprenticeship position at a commercial property investment company where I was taught the maths, maintenance operations and what to look out for when purchasing property.

Following my apprenticeship, I was headhunted by a Residential Property Management company. I was given the position of Sales Manager where I was in charge of generating income for the homeowners and helped in the day-to-day management of the company. During my 4 and a half years with this company, I assisted in growing the managed properties from a few homes to having a portfolio value of over R1 Billion under management.
I have been following the Tyson success story since they first arrived in the Western Cape. I have always been impressed by the agents who month after month have performed very well in less than ideal market conditions. The brand has grown its market share tremendously to a point where Tyson is dominating areas where other agencies have been present for decades.
I believe the success of this company comes down to three factors; the agents, work ethic, the innovative marketing strategies and, most importantly, the strong leadership of Nick Pearson and the other partners of Tyson Properties.
