Whether you are looking at selling or buying property, there is a multitude of aspects to consider. We chatted to the managing director of Tyson Properties Western Seaboard, Daniela Steckel, to get some expert advice. Watch the short clip below for more.
What advice can you give to sellers on the Western Seaboard?
- Sellers should consider granting their preferred listing agent the sole opportunity to market their property for sale at least for a period of 3 months.
- Allowing numerous agencies to list the property might cause potential buyers to think that there is an issue with the property as the owner may appear “desperate” to get rid of it.
- Sellers should be sure to make their home look neat and presentable when the photographer takes photo’s for marketing purposes as well as when potential buyers come to view.

What advice can you give to first time buyers?
- Buyers should ideally get in touch with a bond originator prior to their “search” for an ideal home.
- This saves time and avoids possible opportunities being missed when buying the perfect home. When buyers know up front what they qualify for – it smoothens the entire process.
- Buyers should ideally save up for a deposit which helps to better secure their offer.
- Buyers should educate themselves prior to the time so that they are fully aware of the location/area they would like to invest/live in.
