It provides a safe environment with quality Montessori education for 24 of the most vulnerable children from the neighbouring community.

Life Child Centre – Emergency Safety Home

It accommodates emergency placements for the most vulnerable babies and children (0-8 years) placed by social workers or by the police.

Partner Preschools

Involvement ensures food provision to all the preschool children through a partner food provider. In Montessori educational training is provided.

SALT provides breakfast and lunch to several primary schools.

Vulnerable Families

From providing support to a vulnerable mother to intervening where there is an at-risk child who is in need of health or social intervention.

Education

SALT partners with local Early Childhood Development Centers and pre-schools. Assists with educational support, training of education staff, classroom resources and facilities, daily meals and more. Have assisted 6 teachers in achieving their National Diploma: Educare (N4 and N5 certificates).

Early Life

The first 1000 days of a child’s life (conception to two years old) is a critically sensitive period of rapid growth and change. Optimal development depends on the availability of supportive and nurturing environments during this early stage. The Early Life Initiative provides this support through volunteers.

Education

Common Good is determined that all children should have access to excellent education. They work from both within the system through the Collaboration Schools project, and in support of targeted literacy and numeracy interventions at partner schools.

Employment

Through their Zanokhanyo Network they offer transformative job readiness training that empowers the unemployed with the confidence, skills and resources they need to obtain meaningful work.
