Tyson Properties Southern Suburbs Sales Manager, Megan Milne.
Tyson Properties Southern Suburbs is set to open its doors in the beginning of August this year – with the office space in The Alphen currently undergoing extensive renovations.
Throwing it back | The Alphen Estate is situated in Constantia and was declared a national monument in 1973. The Alphen was originally part of the Groot Constantia Estate and apportioned off after the death of its owner, Simon Van Der Stel. Over the centuries it has been converted from a rural farm to a manicured estate with every feature aligned in a succession of botanical vistas. The Estate includes the renowned Alphen Hotel, 3 top-rated restaurants and a few commercial offices – which will now include the Tyson Properties Flagship office for the Western Cape.
“a well-established legacy which we wanted to be a part of”
Nick Pearson, Western Cape Regional Director, elaborates on the reason behind choosing The Alphen Estate – “The history of the property was inspiring as the estate as a whole has stood the test of time with a well-established legacy which we wanted to be a part of. The office space within the Estate provided a unique opportunity as it was previously used as a wine cellar which blends well with the character of the Southern Suburbs whilst being big enough to match our ambition. Being located in Constantia is also important for our team, as the area itself has become the beating heart of Southern Suburbs, whilst allowing our agents to service the surrounding areas as well.’’

About our new premises | Our office space will be our agent’s home from home and we have prided ourselves in setting the bar high in terms of structural design and interior finishes. The work-space will include high-end oak flooring which will stretch from the reception area to the coffee bar & waiting section. Plush carpeting will be fitted in the open area, mezzanine level, boardroom and all offices. A highlight of our premises will be the grand double volume frameless glass boardroom which serves as a feature in the open-plan space. Jacqui Berry and Sarah Pearson from Aloha Interiors state that “Careful consideration has been made to preserve the integrity of the office space as the building was previously utilized as an old wine cellar within The Alphen Estate.”
